At Flourish Play Therapy and Counselling, we provide Paediatric Counselling services delivered by Accredited Social Workers. Social Workers are allied health professionals who work from a strengths-based, trauma-informed, and person-centred framework. We are committed to promoting the wellbeing, rights, and inclusion of children and families - particularly those navigating mental health, disability, or complex life circumstances.

Drawing on a holistic and systems-based approaches, Social Workers support children by addressing not only individual needs but also the broader social, emotional, and environmental factors that impact their development and wellbeing. As multi-disciplinary mental health and disability practitioners, we collaborate closely with families, schools, and other allied health professionals to create tailored, evidence-based interventions that promote resilience, connection, and long-term change. Social Workers are recognised by the South Australian government, SA Health, the NDIA, and are listed under their own support line in the NDIS pricing arrangements.

Supporting children to enhance their emotional awareness and regulation through personalised therapy plans and coping strategies. Using the Focused Psychology Strategies (FPS), we offer a range of supports including:

- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) - helping children identify and reframe unhelpful thoughts, develop coping skills, and manage anxiety, mood, and behaviour

- Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) - Supporting emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness -

- Sand Tray Therapy - a creative, hands-on therapeutic approach where children use miniature figures and objects in a tray of sand to express thoughts, feelings, and experiences that may be difficult to put into words. It helps children process emotions, build self-awareness, and explore their inner world in a safe, symbolic way.

- Psychoeducation - Providing knowledge, information, resources and coping skills to assist with navigating mental health challenges.

- Relaxation Strategies - Being supported to learn how to regulate your nervous system through the use of relaxation strategies.

- Skills training (problem solving, social skills, parent training)
